    If you’ve been looking for healthy lunchbox ideas that are practical and appealing, this is one to save. We’ve been seeing chocolate tofu mousse pop up everywhere lately, so we decided to give it our own lunchbox-friendly spin.

    I’m not about “perfect lunchboxes,” but I do aim for a mix of foods that fuel my kids and foods they genuinely enjoy. This chocolate mousse sits nicely in that middle ground—smooth, rich, and satisfying, with a little more staying power than your typical chocolate mousse.

    It still has that chocolatey sweetness from dark chocolate and honey, but it also includes protein from silken tofu—which blends in seamlessly (no, you can’t taste it… promise).

    And the best part? It’s not just for the kids—you’ll be packing one for yourself too.

    Including a mix of foods—something filling, something fresh, and something enjoyable—can help kids feel satisfied and more excited to open their lunchbox each day. This is an easy addition that brings a bit of variety without adding extra effort.

    Chocolate Tofu Mousse Recipe

    Ingredients

    Method

    1. Melt the dark chocolate until smooth (microwave or stovetop).

    2. Add all ingredients to a blender.

    3. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

    4. Spoon into jars or containers.

    5. Refrigerate for 3–4 hours or overnight until set.

    How to Pack This in a Lunchbox

    This mousse works perfectly in our insulated food jar—just spoon it in straight from the fridge and pack alongside your usual lunchbox items.
