5 Ingredient Chicken Soup Recipe – how to make an easy simple homemade dinner meal with healthy ingredients – with the quick video tutorial.

    5 Ingredient Chicken Soup

This 5 ingredient chicken soup makes an easy, hearty meal that the whole family will enjoy. Best of all, you can adapt the simple recipe to your tastes and dietary requirements.

We love chicken soup as a meal all year around, but especially during the winter months as a comforting meal to help nourish and keep us healthy.

The Simple Ingredients For 5-Ingredient Chicken Soup

The 5 simple ingredient for the easy homemade recipe

To make the easy recipe, you’ll need the following as the core 5 ingredients:

Chicken – you can include your chicken piece of choice, my choice is to use skin on bone in chicken thighs, legs or wings for maximum flavor and nutrition. You could also use leftover rotisserie chicken or add in a couple of chopped chicken breasts as well.

Onion – chop any onion you’d like from red onion, brown onion or spring onions.

    Chopped carrots onion and garlic

Garlic – for a rich garlic flavor, chop up 3-4 fresh garlic cloves, or more, depending on how much of a garlic flavor you’d like your soup to have.

Carrots – always an essential element of chicken soup for me. I keep my carrots unpeeled for the added beneficial fiber, but you can feel free to peel your carrots if you’d prefer.

Apple Cider Vinegar – to both help balance the flavor of the soup and add incredible potential nutritional benefits, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar is a must in chicken soup recipes. (Source.)

    Optional Extra Ingredients

    Ideas for optional extra ingredients

There are so many ways you can adapt the simple recipe to your tastes, dietary requirements and what you have in your kitchen. Here are some ideas for you:

Seasoning – you’ll notice the recipe is void of seasoning, that’s to leave it to you to add sea salt, black pepper or any other seasoning or fresh herbs that you’d like that you usually include in your meals to satisfy your taste buds.

5-Ingredient Chicken Noodle Soup – turn the soup into a comforting noodle soup by adding in egg noodles for the last few minutes of cooking time.

Creamy Topping – top your bowl of hot soup with a swirl of sour cream, heavy cream or cream cheese for extra flavor and healthy fats.

Fresh Vegetables – feel free to add in any other vegetable you’d like such as chopped broccoli, zucchini, celery, peas or corn for the last few minutes of cooking time.
