V8 expanded its energy portfolio with the launch of V8 Energy Zero Sugar, a line extension positioned to meet demand for low- and no-sugar functional beverages. According to Mintel’s 2025 Energy Drinks Report, 83% of sport and energy drink consumers are interested in no- or low-sugar options, underscoring continued pressure on developers to reduce sugar without sacrificing flavor.
The new products contain about 80mg of caffeine per 8-oz can, comparable to a cup of coffee, and are formulated without sugar. The lower caffeine level positions the line for everyday consumption occasions, differentiating it from higher-stimulant energy drinks.
V8 Energy Zero Sugar is available in three flavors: Blueberry Raspberry, Strawberry Lemonade and Cherry Lime. The fruit-forward flavor profiles align with consumer familiarity while allowing for sugar-free formulation in a category traditionally associated with sweetness and high caffeine content.
The products are currently available through Amazon and Walmart, reflecting continued growth of omnichannel distribution for energy beverages.
