Happy Friday! Here’s the latest Columbus restaurant news:
- The family-owned Mexican restaurant Orale Guey Cafe, Bar, & Grill announced that they are taking over former Zacatecas space at 1175 Worthington Woods Blvd. in Worthington. Zacatecas quietly announced their closing in recent months. In addition to the new location announcement, Orale Guey shared that they are expanding their original location at 3415 E. Broad St. as well.
- Frenchi’s Deli in Old North announced that they are expanding to the Short North with a location at 1219 N. High St.
- Red Rabbit Ramen, the ramen cart parked outside Echo Spirits Distilling Co., shared that they will be ending their run at the end of this month.
- Multiple sources have reported that Fujiyama Steak House of Japan at 5755 Cleveland Ave. has closed after nearly 40 years in business.
- This is a couple weeks late, but Monster Baby Donuts announced that they’ve settled into 700 Bryden Rd. in Olde Towne East as their home base. The gluten free and vegan donut shop also operates a truck that will pop up at events around the city.
- Johnson’s Real Ice Cream announced they’ll be expanding yet again with a new store in the Evans Farm development in Lewis Center in the spring of 2026.
- A new shop called Yaffa Cafe is soft opening on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 3708 Fishinger Blvd. in Hilliard. The shop features coffee, desserts, and pizza.
- Another new shop serving coffee and tea, called FiLLi, is coming soon to Columbus, although exact details haven’t been announced yet.
