I love falafel. It is a staple that I grew up with, and you’ll find plenty of falafel recipes on my website. This falafel waffle turns the traditional falafel recipe on its head by using a waffle iron. Not only is it healthier, but the waffle pockets are perfect for catching drizzles of tahini and piling on diced cucumbers and tomatoes.

Preheat your waffle iron to medium heat and grease generously with cooking spray.

Add about ½ cup falafel batter to the waffle iron, gently spreading it out.

How to Make Falafel Waffles
1- Preheat your waffle iron, and grease both the top and bottom plates generously with cooking spray. Scoop about ½ cup of falafel batter directly onto the center of the preheated waffle iron. Use the back of a spoon or a spatula to gently spread it outward.
2- Close the lid firmly. Cook for about 12 to 15 minutes. Carefully lift the Fawaffle out with a fork or silicone spatula. Serve immediately while hot and loaded with your favorite fixings.
